Typhoon HIL hands-on Microgrid Training at Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil

You might be interested to hear that Typhoon HIL is organizing a free training at Federal University of Santa Maria on September 19th. If you are a power electronics engineer, professor, student or a developer interested in the subject of Hardware-in-the-Loop testing and Microgrids, the training is a perfect match for you, because you will get fully familiarized with the new possibilities and solutions offered by the HIL technology.

The training will be hosted by MSc. Murilo Almeida, Head of Microgrid Applications Group at Typhoon HIL, and will take place from 9 AM to 4 PM on Thursday, September 19th 2019 at UFSM. 

Venue: Instituto Nacional de Redes Inteligentes - INRI.

After that, you will also receive a link to the HIL Academy website, a Typhoon HIL knowledge platform where you can get a HIL Specialist digital badge and where you can download a free, fully functional copy of Typhoon HIL’s Virtual HIL software. Murilo M. Almeida is the head of Microgrid Applications Group at Typhoon HIL. Mainly, Murilo is responsible for the microgrid applications branch. His everyday tasks include:

  • Coordinating the development team for high fidelity models and controls for elements of a microgrid, including protection relays, controlled and variable loads, energy management systems and distributed energy resources;
  • Coordinating projects of microgrid testbed development by implementing the microgrids topology and interfaces in the simulation environment for the use of real controllers connected via hardware-in-the-loop;
  • Creation, development, implementation, upgrade and maintenance of the microgrid elements library for Typhoon HIL tool-chain.
