Dr. Reza Sabzehgar

Background

Prior joining San Diego State University, Dr. Sabzehgar served as a faculty member of British Colombia Institute of Technology and Simon Fraser University where he received his Ph.D. degree and continued his research as a postdoctoral fellow.

Dr. Sabzehgar has taught several courses on power electronics, electronics circuits, industrial electronics, industrial control, microelectronics, and electro-mechanical sensors and actuators.

Research

Dr. Sabzehgar specializes in several areas related to EE including power electronics, energy harvesting, renewable energies, control application, and hybrid electric vehicles.

Currently, he is focusing his research on:

  • Power electronics converters
  • Smart grid (microgrid)
  • Vehicle-to-grid technologies
